Civil Status Registry
About Us
The Civil Status Registry, a department under the Ministry of Justice, is located on Brazil Street, Castries, Saint Lucia. The mission of the Registry is "provide timely and efficient recording of vital records for the people of Saint Lucia through the use of innovative technology to streamline the data capture process with a view to improving the accuracy and completeness of records." Over the years, the Registry has indeed grown and expanded its service delivery in pursuit of this mission. There are further developments in the works with a view to strengthening our resolve in providing exceptional service to the people of Saint Lucia and also further bolstering confidence in our systems and processes.
Whereas the Registry is known for the issuing of vital certificates to include birth, baptism, adoption, marriages, deaths and burials. The Registry also provides other key services to the people of Saint Lucia. These additional services are the issuing of Unmarried Certificates and Life Certificates, Late Registration, Re-Registration, Searches for vital records and Rectification services to correct errors on vital records. The Civil Status Registry also oversees registration of vital records and facilitates registration of births and deaths. As such, the Registry provides a full range of services in keeping with its mandate of capturing accurate and complete data coupled with our phased implementation of a Vital Records Management System to improve efficiencies.

Registry of Companies & Intellectual Property
About Us
The Registry of Companies and Intellectual Property was established by an Act of Parliament No. 12 of 2000 (now Cap. 13.02 of the Revised Laws of Saint Lucia) - Companies and Intellectual Property (Registry) Act. The Act aims to provide for the creation and administration of an efficient companies and intellectual property registry.
The main objectives of the Registry are as follows:
- To create efficient administration of company and intellectual property matters.
- To maintain an updated filing system for companies, business names, partnerships, and intellectual property.
- To ensure easy access to information filed at the Registry.
- To generate a level of enforcement and awareness of treaties and legislation pertaining to companies and intellectual property.
- To register companies, business names, partnerships, and intellectual property.
The Registry is responsible for the administration of the following legislation:
- Companies Act and Regulation, Cap. 13.01
- Registration of Business Names Act and Rules, Cap 13.03
- Partnerships (Commercial Code)
- Lay-out Designs (Topographies) Integrated Circuits Act, Cap 13.16
- Geographical Indications Act and Regulations, Cap. 13.14
- Copyright Act Cap. 13.07
- Industrial Designs Act and Regulations Cap. 13.29
- Protection against unfair Competition Act Cap. 13.28
- Trademarks Act and Regulations Cap. 13.30
- Patents (Commercial Code--UK re-registration). A new Act will be implemented soon.
